3 & 4 year olds are entitled to 15 hours per week over 38 weeks from the term following their 3rd birthday until they reach compulsory school age (the beginning of the term following their 5th birthday). This means that if their birthday is during the period April to August they would access their free funded sessions from the following September; if birthday is during the period September to December they would access their free funded sessions from the following January; and if born during the period January to March they would access their free funded sessions after the Easter break in April.

Working Parent Entitlement

Working parents of 9 months to 2 years olds can apply for childcare funding and if you qualify you can get 15 hours per week for 38 weeks a year.  For information on how to apply please see: Apply for free childcare if you’re working – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) or speak to a member of our team.

Working parents of 3 to 4 year olds in England will be eligible for 30 hours of funded childcare – rather than the universal 15 hours. At St Barnabas Nursery we can offer 30 hours per week for 38 weeks of the year, within school term times.

Not every child will be eligible for the 30 hours but everyone will still receive the 15 hours funded childcare that is currently available.

For details of eligibility for the 30 hour childcare please follow the link below.

Childcare Choices

Eligible 2 year olds can access the funded 15 hours from the term following their 2nd birthday. This includes families receiving some form of government support and from April 2024 working families.
