Houses

Here at St Barnabas we have a House System, and this helps to create and develop a sense of community and belonging within our school. We have four houses (in no particular order):  Red, Yellow, Green and Blue.
All children and staff members are allocated a House and siblings are always placed in the same house.

Each House is run by a staff House Leader and two Year 6 House Captains.  Year 6 children are invited to put themselves forward for the role of House Captain at the start of Year 6 and are then selected for their leadership potential.  Our Houses are currently run as follows:
  • Red House Leader: Kelly Player
  • Yellow House Leader: Emma Morgan
  • Green House Leader: Lauren Clark
  • Blue House Leader: Holly West
Children are awarded House Points for work.  Once an individual child collects a certain numbers of House Points, they are awarded certificates and then badge in assembly and there are several badges to collect - children are proud to wear their House Point badges on their school jumpers.  House Points are also collated collectively for the House and the House with the most points at the end of each long term receives a reward such as a party, movie morning, picnic or trip to the park.
