Savernake
Our Savernake class enjoyed their first Forest School session this week. They spent time exploring the woods, working together to create amazing dens, and having plenty of fun along the way!
Every week, the children will face a new cross-curricular challenge in Forest School — blending creativity, teamwork, and learning in the great outdoors.
Over the past couple of weeks, the children have been on an exciting journey of discovery and teamwork. They’ve built incredible dens, learned the basics of fire-making, and worked together to complete each challenge with enthusiasm and creativity.
Next week, we’re taking things up a notch! The children will put their fire-making skills into practice by creating a real campfire (under close supervision, of course!) and enjoy the ultimate outdoor treat—roasting marshmallows.
This activity isn’t just fun—it helps develop confidence, problem-solving, and collaboration skills in a safe, supportive environment. We can’t wait to see their proud faces as they achieve this milestone!
Thank you for supporting their adventure—we’ll share plenty of photos so you can see the magic in action.
Savernake have enjoyed building shelters, learning about wildlife, and working together as a team. To finish the term on a high note, the class had a fantastic time roasting marshmallows over the fire last week – a perfect way to celebrate their achievements and create lasting memories!”
Term 5
Savernake have made a wonderful start to Term 5 at Forest School. The children have been working collaboratively to design and build their own dens, showing fantastic teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving skills. They have also been busy planting wildflower seeds, helping to create a welcoming habitat for birds, insects, and bees.
Climbing and exploring the rope equipment has been a particular highlight, with the children building confidence, resilience, and physical strength as they challenge themselves in a safe and supportive environment.
